TurnsforTomorrow

Every turn makes a little difference.

An annual ski challenge for kids. Each skier picks a children's charity they care about. Friends and family pledge an amount for every 1,000 vertical feet. Then we spend two days skiing as much vertical as our legs will allow.

How it works

Pick a skier. Pledge their vertical. Watch them ski.

STEP 1

Every skier picks a cause

Each participant chooses a children's charity that means something to them.

STEP 2

You pledge per 1,000 ft

Choose how much you'll give for every 1,000 vertical feet your skier completes.

STEP 3

We ski two days

Follow the live leaderboard as the group stacks vertical at Breckenridge.

STEP 4

You give directly

We send your final total and a link to donate straight to your skier's charity.

The 2027 challenge

The inaugural Turns for Tomorrow

A small founding group, two days on the mountain, and one goal: ski as much vertical as possible for kids. We're starting small on purpose, so we can get it right and build it into an annual tradition.

Our causes

Different causes. One purpose.

We don't choose the cause for our skiers. We ask each one to choose the children's charity they care enough about to ski for. Causes are announced as skiers join.

Eligibility standard

A qualified 501(c)(3) whose mission or designated program directly and materially improves the lives of children.
  • Registered U.S. 501(c)(3) in good standing
  • Funds raised support work that benefits children
  • Accepts donations directly and issues tax receipts
  • Approved by Turns for Tomorrow before it goes on the site

Rules of the mountain

Simple rules, one number per pledge

Every pledge is a single rate per 1,000 vertical feet. That keeps the math clean for supporters and the competition fair for skiers.

FAQ

Questions

Does Turns for Tomorrow handle any money?

No. We record pledges and keep score. Every donation goes directly from you to your skier's chosen charity, which processes the payment and sends your receipt.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Your donation is made directly to a 501(c)(3) charity, so it is generally deductible to the extent allowed by law. The charity issues your receipt. Check with your tax advisor about your own situation.

When do I pay my pledge?

After the challenge ends and final vertical is recorded, we email and text you your exact total with a link to donate directly to the charity.

How much will I end up giving?

Your rate times your skier's vertical in thousands of feet. At $10 per 1,000 feet, a skier who logs 60,000 feet means a $600 donation. Use the calculator at the top of the page to try your own numbers.

Can I back more than one skier?

Yes. Make a separate pledge for each skier you'd like to support.

Will my name or pledge amount be public?

You choose. Show your full name, your first name and last initial, or stay anonymous. Individual pledge amounts are never shown publicly.

What if my skier gets hurt or the weather shuts the mountain?

Your pledge is based on the vertical your skier actually records during the challenge days.

Can I ski next year?

We hope so. Reach out and tell us which children's charity you'd ski for.
